Garrett Zaan

Garrett currently players water polo at Long Beach State under Head Coach Gavin Arroyo and also represented Team USA at FINA Men’s Junior World Championship … Awarded Second Team All-GCC … Appeared in 28 games and scored 37 goals and had 12 assists and 24 steals … Had 13 multi-goal games … Scored season-high three goals against Air Force (Sept. 15), Air Force (Sept. 22) and Pacific (Nov. 1).

In 2018 Zaan was named Honorable Mention All-America … Named to the All-GCC Second team and All-Freshman team with his first season competing for the Beach … Selected as GCC Player of the Week after helping the Beach defeat No. 5 Pacific on Nov. 9 … Second on the team in total goals with 25 … First on the team in drawn exclusions with 16 … Made seven steals and six field blocks … Tied his career high in goals with 4 on Oct. 14 against Pacific and Nov. 24 against Pomona-Pitzer.

Garret attending Huntington Beach High School where he lettered on varsity all four years with the Oilers … Earned 1st Team All-Sunset League and first-team All-CIF … Competed for Team USA in the 2018 FINA World Youth Water Polo Championships in Szombathely, Hungary … Won gold in the Pan American Games and was a 3-time Gold Junior Olympian … Also played for Vanguard Athletics club under Sasa Branisavljevic.

Garrett is coaching our 14u Boys and is also majoring in Communications at Long Beach State.
